Synopsis
Ada Morrow will not sell. The orchard is all that remains of a marriage the war unmade, and of a variety of apple that exists on this slope and nowhere else. The man who wants the timber has already bought the town. What he has not bought is the thing Ada buried the winter her husband did not come home. The Last Orchard is historical fiction with dirt under its nails: land, labor, and the private treaties women make when the law is elsewhere.
